We’re a small (tiny, really) independent publisher of photobooks based in South London.
Started in 2022 by Paul Bence and named to honour his Welsh roots, Southerndown Press aims to support emerging artists in publishing their work. Primarily focused on documentary and street photography, we hope Southerndown Press can show you art you have never seen. We want to show you work that surprises you, challenges you and, most of all makes you pick up the photobook or zine multiple times.

Founder
Street & Documentary Photographer with over twenty years of experience in the photographic industry and one-half of The Idle Hands Society Podcast. Paul has a history of challenging the conventions of displaying his photography. He founded Southerndown Press to publish work under-appreciated by more prominent publishers and pull talented photographers from the void of social media, giving them the physical space they have earned.
